Taiwan Startup Founders Gathering | GIST Taipei
GIST, Global Investors and Startups in Taiwan, brings together founders and investors working across borders in order to support startups and their global ambitions. For our first gathering, we are meeting at a very cool, newly launched startup coworking space called Day 1 to meet other like-minded entrepreneurs building here in Taipei. There is no agenda, this is a casual social event to connect with others in the community, learn who's building interesting things, and helping each other out. Come away with new relationships, feel inspired in your startup journey, and check out a great new workspace in Taipei that bringing the startup community together. Food and snacks will be provided, but feel free to contribute your own beverages and food if you like! Time Plan to arrive around 6:00 PM and we will stay till around 8:30 PM. If we are still going strong, we will find an after-gathering spot to continue the conversations. Venue Day 1 is a community-first coworking and creator space in Taipei for everyone who refuses to settle: founders, freelancers, small teams testing the next thing, and remote workers who want stimulation and conversation. What Are You Building?
Come see what people are actually building. There’s a lot being built around us that most people never get to see until it’s polished, launched, or fundraising. What Are You Building? is a monthly gathering at Day 1 where five people get a few minutes to show something they’re working on, followed by questions from the room. No judges. No competition. No unsolicited advice. Just people showing what they’re building, a curious room asking good questions, and time afterward to meet the people behind the work. What you show could be a startup, a new product, an app, hardware, a food concept, a community, a creative project, or something that doesn’t fit neatly into any of those categories. You don’t need to be fundraising. You don’t need a polished deck. You don’t even need to be finished. Want to show what you’re building? The five presentation spots for this edition are currently filled, but you can still submit what you’re working on when you register. Plans change, so we may reach out if a spot opens up. We’ll also keep submissions in mind for future editions of What Are You Building? Submitting a project does not guarantee a presentation spot, and whether or not you’re selected, you’re still registered to attend the event. You also don’t need to be based in Taipei. If you’re visiting and building something interesting, we want to hear about it too. About Day 1 Day 1 is a coworking and community space in Taipei for founders, operators, creatives, and people building things. We created it as more than a place to rent a desk. A place to work alongside interesting people, meet others outside your usual circles, and create more opportunities for ideas and projects to collide.

What could transportation in Taiwan look like ten years from now — and what do we want it to look like? Join us for the first Taipei Urban Mobility Meetup, an informal gathering for people interested in transportation, urban planning, mobility, and the future of Taiwan's cities. Brand x AI Working Day
You spend five days a week working on someone else's business. What about your own? Most people spend their weekdays helping a company, a boss, or a client get things done. The time left over could go toward something that's actually yours, but it often just slips by. This one's set in a comfortable, open space, working together for an afternoon around one theme: AI x Brand Building. You don't need to already be anyone. If you're curious about using AI to build your own brand, that's enough to come. Note: this gathering will mainly run in Mandarin. ❏ What's happening After our July 23rd event on building your own brand system with AI, we asked for feedback and found everyone kept coming back to the same thing: how do you build a brand mindset in the AI era. This session picks up that same thread, in a coworking, hands-on format. The venue is a public coworking space. We're not renting a private room, we're just working together in an open area. You might end up sitting next to different people throughout the day. If a conversation starts, great, if not, everyone just works on their own thing. If the numbers and the space allow it on the day, we'll set aside some time for quick introductions. We'll also open the floor for anyone already running a brand, or about to start one, to share briefly. How the day actually unfolds depends on what's happening in the room. What’s Worth Paying More For? with Michele Wang & Sabrina Lin When cheaper alternatives are everywhere, what actually makes something worth paying more for? For the next Day 1: Unscripted, we’re bringing together Michele Wang and Sabrina Lin for a candid conversation about price, value, trust, brand, and what makes customers willing to spend more. This isn’t a pricing workshop or a traditional panel. We’ll explore questions like: · Why do people still choose premium products when cheaper options exist? · Are customers paying for quality, convenience, trust, identity, or something else? · What makes something feel premium rather than simply expensive? · How much does brand really influence willingness to pay? · What happens when AI makes services and expertise easier to replicate? · When customers say something is “too expensive,” is price actually the problem? · What becomes more valuable as more products and services become commoditized? About Sabrina Lin Sabrina Lin is the founder and designer of Ellevate Apparel, a Taiwan-based womenswear brand focused on thoughtful, versatile quality essentials. Over the past three years, she has built Ellevate through e-commerce, pop-ups across Taipei, and direct customer engagement, before opening the brand’s first brick-and-mortar concept store earlier this year in Taipei’s East District. With a hands-on role across product design, marketing, branding, and retail, Sabrina has seen firsthand how customer expectations and perceptions of value shift across different channels and how a brand has to adapt its product and experience in response.
