Day 1Taipei
Day 1 Coworking

Membership Terms

Effective Date: August 2026 · Version 2.1

Welcome to Day 1 Coworking. These Membership Terms govern memberships at Day 1. By purchasing a membership or using our services, you agree to these Membership Terms, our House Rules, Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, and any additional policies published by Day 1.

Your right to review these terms These Membership Terms are a standard form contract (定型化契約) under the Consumer Protection Act. You are entitled to a reasonable period to review them before entering into a contract. These terms are published on our website at all times and are available for download, so that you may review them before purchasing. If you would like additional time to review before signing up, please tell us and we will hold your place. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other mandatory Taiwan law. Where any provision conflicts with a mandatory legal protection, the legal protection prevails.

1. Who We Are

Day 1 Coworking is operated by 第一天共創公司, a company registered in Taiwan. Full company details appear at the end of these terms.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to purchase a membership.
  • If you are under eighteen, you may only use our services with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, who will be responsible for your obligations under these terms.
  • If you purchase on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company.

3. Membership Plans

Day 1 offers a range of membership options, which may include:

  • Resident Membership
  • Premium Membership
  • Hot Desk Membership
  • Day Passes
  • Other promotional or limited-time memberships

Current membership plans, pricing and included benefits are published on our website. All prices are quoted in New Taiwan Dollars (NTD) and are inclusive of business tax.

4. Access and Membership Benefits

Access to the coworking space and member benefits depends on the membership plan purchased. Benefits may include workspace access, meeting room credits, community events, member discounts, after-hours access (where applicable) and other benefits announced by Day 1.

Changes to benefits. We may modify membership benefits from time to time. Where a change materially reduces the benefits of your plan, we will give you at least thirty (30) (days') notice, and you may cancel your membership without penalty before the change takes effect and receive a pro-rata refund of any prepaid fees for the period after cancellation.

Shared space. The space is shared with other members and, in some areas, with other occupants of the building. Availability of any particular desk, room or facility is not guaranteed unless expressly reserved.

5. Payments and Invoicing

  • Membership fees are payable in advance using one of the available payment methods.
  • Accepted payment methods may include credit card, bank transfer, and other approved methods such as LINE Pay or Apple Pay.
  • A Government Uniform Invoice (統一發票) will be issued for each payment in accordance with Taiwan tax law. You may nominate a carrier (載具) or provide a Unified Business Number for a company invoice.

Price changes. Membership fees may change over time. We will give existing members at least thirty (30) days' written notice before a price change affects their membership. If you do not accept the new price, you may cancel before it takes effect and will not be charged the new rate.

Late payment. If a payment fails, we will notify you and allow at least seven (7) days for you to correct it before suspending access. We do not charge penalty interest on late membership payments.

6. Membership Renewal

  • Where applicable, memberships automatically renew on a monthly basis until cancelled.
  • We will send you an email reminder at least seven (7) days before each renewal, stating the renewal date and the amount to be charged.
  • You may cancel future renewals at any time before your next billing date, through your member account or by contacting us.

7. Cancellation and Refunds

  • You may cancel your membership at any time.
  • Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not affect the remainder of the current paid membership period.
  • If you purchased online, by phone or by message, you have a statutory right to withdraw within seven (7) days. Where you have already used part of the service, the value of what you used is set off against the refund — see Section 1 of our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Full details are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Member Responsibilities

Members agree to:

  • Follow the House Rules;
  • Respect fellow members, guests and staff;
  • Maintain a safe, professional and inclusive environment;
  • Keep their access credentials secure and not share them with others;
  • Promptly report damage, maintenance issues or safety concerns;
  • Use the space lawfully and comply with building rules and safety requirements;
  • Not use the Day 1 address as a registered company address unless we have agreed in writing.

9. Guests

Guest access may be permitted depending on the membership plan and current Day 1 policies. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests while on the premises.

We may limit or restrict guest access during events or periods of high occupancy. Where we do so, we will give as much notice as reasonably practicable.

10. Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate a membership if a member:

  • Materially violates the House Rules;
  • Fails to pay membership fees after notice and a period to correct;
  • Uses the space for unlawful purposes;
  • Harasses or threatens other members, guests or staff;
  • Damages the premises or property.

Process. Except where there is an immediate risk to the safety of people or property, we will notify you in writing of the issue and give you a reasonable opportunity (of at least seven (7) days) to remedy it before suspending or terminating your membership.

Refund on termination. If we terminate your membership for a reason other than those listed above, or without following this process, we will refund the unused portion of your current billing period on a pro-rata basis.

Your right to terminate. You may terminate immediately and receive a pro-rata refund if we materially fail to provide the services and do not remedy that failure within fourteen (14) days of your written notice.

11. Personal Property and Liability

Members are responsible for their own personal belongings and are encouraged to keep valuables secure.

Day 1 is not liable for the loss, theft or damage of personal property, except where the loss results from our negligence or wilful misconduct, or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the Consumer Protection Act, the Civil Code or other mandatory Taiwan law.

12. Force Majeure

If we are prevented from providing the space or services by events beyond our reasonable control — including earthquake, fire, flood, pandemic, government order, or failure of building services — we will notify members as soon as practicable. Where the space is unavailable for more than seven (7) consecutive days, membership fees will be reduced on a pro-rata basis for the period of unavailability.

13. Your Personal Information

We collect and use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act. Please read the Privacy Policy for details of what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights available to you.

This includes the technical records created when you use the member platform — your IP address, approximate location and device type at sign-in, at event registration and at check-in — which we keep for security and support purposes for twelve (12) months.

14. Intellectual Property of Members

You retain all rights in your own work, ideas and materials. Day 1 claims no ownership over anything you create, discuss or store in the space.

We may photograph or film community events for marketing purposes. We will give notice at such events and provide a way to opt out. We will not use your image in marketing without your consent.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Membership Terms from time to time. The latest version is always available on our website.

Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will notify existing members by email at least thirty (30) days before it takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you may cancel your membership before the effective date and receive a pro-rata refund of any prepaid fees. Changes do not apply retroactively.

Complaints and Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint, please contact us first using the contact details set out at the end of this document. We aim to acknowledge complaints within three (3) business days and resolve them within fifteen (15) days.

If we are unable to resolve your complaint, you may escalate it through the following channels available to consumers in Taiwan:

  • The Consumer Service Hotline on 1950;
  • The consumer protection officer (消費者保護官) of the relevant local government;
  • The Consumers' Foundation, Chinese Taipei (中華民國消費者文教基金會); or
  • Mediation or litigation in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Any dispute shall be submitted to the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance, without prejudice to any mandatory provision of the Consumer Protection Act that grants you the right to bring proceedings in another competent court.

Language

These Membership Terms are published in English and in Traditional Chinese. The English version is the governing version. In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between the two versions, the English version prevails, save where a mandatory provision of Taiwan law requires otherwise.
