Code Meets Animation: LottieFiles x The AI Collective

ttwPart of Taipei Tech Week · 16 – 22 Nov

DesignAI & techProduct

Hosted by The AI Collective

Day 1, Taipei · Open to the public

AI can now turn a single sentence into a production-ready animation. That part is getting easy. The hard part is everything after: keeping motion consistent across a product, turning it into a system with tokens and rules, making sure it performs on every device, and actually shipping it.

That gap is what Code Meets Animation is about, and it’s what we’re digging into for an evening in Taipei.

The AI Collective Taipei is teaming up with LottieFiles for a night of conversation with local motion designers, a first look at new AI tools, a hands-on live challenge, and plenty of time to meet people building with motion and AI.

Who this is for
If you’re curious about AI and motion, you belong here. Especially:

Motion designers and animators exploring AI in their workflow
Product and frontend engineers (web, React Native, Flutter)
Product designers without a motion background
Design systems and interaction designers
PMs, eng leads and founders
Agency and freelance builders

Entry: 1-drink minimum purchase at the venue.

What’s happening:

-Welcome to Code Meets Animation, Taipei edition by Madeline Chen, Product Marketer at LottieFiles, and Alix Zerd, The AI Collective Taipei (5 min)

-Panel: AI in Motion Design (30 min): Cheng Ping Li and Poyin Chen on how AI is changing the craft, moderated by Alix Zerd, with audience Q&A

-A first look at LottieFiles’ new AI tools for motion by Madeline Chen, Product Marketer at LottieFiles (15 min)

-Live challenge (30 min): Build a UI animation using nothing but prompts in the tool you just saw. Bring your laptop and your best ideas.

-Life Beyond the Prompt by Yaamin M, Sr Partnerships Manager at LottieFiles (15 min)

-Networking (30 min)

Topics we’ll cover
Motion and AI, AI-powered production workflows, motion systems and governance, tokenization in motion, motion design and engineering, and motion at scale.

What you’ll walk away with:
-Swag from LottieFiles
-A view of where motion is today and where it’s heading
-Real-world perspectives from Taipei motion designers working with AI
-New connections across design, engineering and the AI community
-A clear starting point for using motion in your work tomorrow

Bring: A laptop if you want to join the live challenge.

Speakers

Cheng Ping Li, Motion Designer

Trained in Arts Management at National Taipei University of Education, Cheng Ping realized his calling was creating, and taught himself animation, design and illustration. Over six years he’s built a strong foundation in 2D motion and character animation across branding, storytelling and digital content, and is now exploring 3D. He’s inspired by typography, visual storytelling, cinema and the cultures behind them.

Poyin Chen, Motion Designer & Supervisor | AI-powered motion workflows

Poyin designs and supervises motion for brands that need their stories to move people, not just pixels. Over the past decade he has led motion across ceremony visuals, brand identities, commercials and large-scale projection for clients including Disney, Google, Bloomberg, CNN and McDonald’s. Now he’s plugging AI straight into production, driving After Effects through custom tooling and generative pipelines so the craft scales without losing its hand.

Madeline Chen, Product Marketer, LottieFiles
Madeline started her career as a UX researcher, and now she’s a product marketer at LottieFiles, helping people find the tools worth clicking on. With a background in UI/UX and three years in design and animation, she brings a researcher’s curiosity to everything she does, from understanding what designers and developers actually need to showing them how easy and fun motion can be.

Yaamin M, Sr Partnerships Manager, LottieFiles
Yaamin is a designer turned marketer with ten years across design, motion, and marketing. He leads Partnerships at LottieFiles, where he sits at the intersection of AI, design, and motion, driving education and partnership initiatives that help designers and developers bring motion into their products.

Moderator: Alix Zerd
Alix leads the Taipei chapter of The AI Collective and works across technology, culture, art and civic participation. He’ll moderate the panel and help unpack the practical, creative and cultural questions AI raises in motion design.
